Big Brother burst on to our television screens back in 2001 and has been a ratings bonanza for channel Ten ever since. Big Brother is the most popular reality television program in Australia and the program runs over a period of three months during the middle of the year. The concept of the show is a bunch of strangers are put into a house together with camera's covering every single angle of the house. Weekly evictions lead to one person remaining, with a large amount of prize money being awarded.
Big Brother is televised nightly on Channel Ten, while eviction shows are held on Sundays. Viewers can also watch live broadcasts via the Big Brother website. In addition to Big Brother, three years ago the Friday Night Live games show was added to the broadcast whereby all the contestants would participate in a mini-games tournament with the winner receiving prizes for that particular week.
