Racecourse Information
Along with Rosehill Gardens, the Sydney Turf Club was founded in 1943. Today it is only one of two metropolitan racecourses in Australia, along with Moonee Valley, to have full lighting to enable night thoroughbred racing.
The small saucer-shaped track has sharp turns making it suitable for short-strided gallopers. Horses that can start fast and maintain the lead to the 317 meter long straight have a distinct advantage here.
