The German Grand Prix is a Formula One motor race which is held annually. The event is held in the tenth round of the 2008 Formula One Championship calendar and will be held at Hockenheimring.
The German Grand Prix has been on the Formula One championship calendar since 1951, but missed the inaugural championship year due to German drivers being banned from racing as Germany was banned from taking part in International events after World War II.
The inaugural German Grand Prix was staged at Nürburgring and was every year (excluding 1970) until 1976 where it was then moved to Hockenheimring where it has been staged ever since (excluding 1985). In 2006 it was announced that from 2007 to 2010 the event would be rotated between Nürburgring and Hockenheimring.
The event itself is a total of 67 laps over a distance of 306.346 kilometers with each lap being 4.57 kilometers long.
